KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Public Authority of Civil Information has announced a new update to the My Kuwait Identity app, introducing a Quick Response (QR) code service that allows users to receive their Civil ID card digitally in specific cases. According to the update, the QR code feature can be used for first-time issuance of Civil ID cards as well as for replacement of lost cards, streamlining the process and reducing the need for in-person visits. The authority said the new digital service is part of ongoing efforts to enhance government services and improve efficiency by enabling faster access to essential identity documents through secure electronic systems. Officials added that the initiative aims to simplify procedures for residents while ensuring secure verification and delivery of Civil ID data through the app’s digital platform. Below are the steps 1. Notification will arrive via My Kuwait ID app along with the link to generate QR code 2. After entering your mobile number and OTP verification code will be sent 3. You will receive QR code to collect your Civil ID card Also, PACI through Sahel App has enabled users to request a certificate containing their previous civil ID number details directly through the department’s certificate list, without the need for in-person visits.
