Coastguards nab 13 suspects

KUWAIT: Coastguards managed to apprehend 13 people on a boat that snuck its way into territorial waters during extensive campaigns carried out during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. The boat was spotted 13 miles away from the Kubbar island approaching from southeast, after which a coastguard boat was sent to intercept it. The 13 suspects were arrested and referred to the proper authorities and charged with illegal entry.

Reckless driver
A woman and her child were hospitalized following a hit-and-run accident reported recently in Jahra. According to the female citizen’s statements, the suspect was performing dangerous stunts outside her house before losing control over his vehicle and hitting both her and her son who were standing outside at the time. Doctors at the Jahra Hospital described the victims’ condition as stable. Search is on for the reckless driver.

Armed passenger held
Airport officials apprehended an American citizen employed at Camp Arifjan after magazines and bullets used for a mechanical weapon were found in his luggage. Security officers checked the man’s suitcases after growing suspicious of items they spotted during baggage screening. The man was placed under arrest after the items were retrieved and identified as pieces used for M16 rifles, before he was taken to the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police station for questioning.
